 WHY am I anxious?

There are two different kinds of anxiety you may be experiencing: "State anxiety" or "Trait anxiety."

"State anxiety" refers to experiences of anxiety and nervous system activation during certain situations or time periods that are inherently more stressful, such as an interview setting or a high-stakes presentation.

"Trait anxiety"  anxiety is part of the personality and the lens that you see the world through, so daily activities like picking up kids from school or having a meeting with your manager becomes anxiety-provoking.

The Anxious Personality Framework focuses on helping people who have trait anxiety by recognizing that in order to effectively deal with the root cause of trait anxiety, you need to work through the main components of the personality structure. When you resolve specific issues with each component, anxiety no longer becomes prominent in your personality i.e. the lens of anxiety dissolves.

 WHAT are my options? 
Generally, there are three major approaches to dealing with trait anxiety, and each emphasize a particular dimension of anxiety:
 
  • Biological perspective
  • Cognitive behavioral perspective
  • Psychodynamic perspective 

Each perspective has its merits and limitations. There's also a fourth perspective, which is the "psychospiritual" perspective, which is the view The Anxious Personality Framework uses. In this view, trait anxiety is seen as an essential disconnection from one's inner security, power, and strength. 
 
     HOW can I stop anxiety? 
    Each person's experience with anxiety is unique and different, so each person's journey toward understanding and resolving anxiety will be different. However, there are general stages that we go through as part of The Anxious Personality Framework to effectively stop anxiety from dominating your life.

    Stage 0: Gaining space from anxiety (learning tools & techniques to manage anxiety)
    Stage 1: Identifying and disengaging from the Inner Critic
    Stage 2: Understanding the Sense of Self
    Stage 3: Unraveling the Core Belief
    Stage 4: Dismantling the Anxiety Template

    The Anxious Personality Framework provides tools, techniques, assessments, products, and strategies to support your work through these stages.
